When you try to analyze and debate cigarette smoking pros and cons, you will find that there are hardly any pros, but lots of cons, some of which are extremely life threatening. So what are the pros of smoking? A certain high, a clear head, a mouthful of poisonous smoke, a cool and stylish attitude just like your favorite movie star and what else? Perhaps you didn’t care much about it, but those women who smoke during pregnancy are actually causing grievous harm to the unborn fetus. In fact regular smoking can jeopardize your chances of ever becoming pregnant – one of the effects of smoking is increased risk of impotence or infertility.

Just to let you know how lethal the effects of passive smoking can be, around 35000 to 40000 victims of passive smoking died in USA in the eighties, according to a study in 1992! More than 17000 children under the age of 5 years are regularly hospitalized in UK because of the fumes of passive smoking.

To prevent more such tragedies from occurring, governments all across the globe are putting in place a ban on smoking in public places. Hopefully, after reading through the harmful effects of cigarette smoking, you will now stay away from this dreaded stuff.
